Celtic fans woke up to the news that manager Brendan Rodgers is on his way out of the club.

Rodgers has held talks with Leicester City and has ‘verbally agreed’ to take charge of the Premier League club after Claude Puel was sacked on Sunday.

To see their manager depart mid-season has perturbed Hoops fans and not just because it could have an effect on their season and the final push for the Scottish Premiership title.

Some of the Celtic faithful have rehashed the words from a tweet former striker Moussa Dembele posted shortly before he left Parkhead for Lyon last summer.

Dembele tweeted a picture with the message: “A lie has many variations, the truth none.”

He added to the tweet: “Don’t get it wrong Bhoys and Ghirls it’s nothing to do with people who really care about the club @CelticFC.

“Too much love and respect for you and the crest #CarefulWhoYouCallTheLeaderOfYours.”

It was a pretty cryptic tweet at the time but now Rodgers has seemingly jumped at the first chance of leaving, a number of Hoops supporters have suggested Dembele foresaw this happening.

And these Celtic fans had their say on the manager leaving, with many labelling Rodgers a ‘rat’ while also referring to Dembele’s tweet.
